General FAQs

How can I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by using our online booking system on our website or by calling us at (970) 328-8312.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We accept drop-off appointments for emergencies and urgent care. Our veterinarians will examine your pet during a drop-off appointment, but you will need to leave your pet at our clinic for several hours. For all other visits, we recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure you receive the best possible care.

What services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of services including wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, surgery, emergency care, and more. See our complete lineup of services.

Do you offer emergency care?

Yes, we provide emergency services during our regular hours. For after-hours emergencies, please contact one of the following clinics:

  • Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital (Arvada, CO): (303) 424-3325 (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
  • VEPC (Basalt, CO): (970) 927-5066 (6  PM – 8  AM weekdays, open 24 hours weekends)
Do you offer spaying and neutering services?

Yes, we provide spaying and neutering as part of our surgical services. It’s an important step in maintaining your pet’s health.

What preventive care do you recommend for my pet?

Preventive care includes regular wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and dental care. We tailor our recommendations based on your pet’s age, breed, and lifestyle.

Pet Health and Care FAQs

How often should I bring my pet in for a check-up?

We recommend annual check-ups for most pets, but this may vary based on age, breed, and health conditions. Puppies, kittens, and senior pets may require more frequent visits.

What should I do if my pet is sick?

If your pet is showing signs of illness, please contact us immediately to schedule an appointment. If it’s an emergency, please contact us ASAP and plan to bring your pet in right away.

How can I tell if my pet is in pain?

Signs of pain in pets include limping, changes in behavior, loss of appetite, vocalizing, and excessive licking or grooming. If you suspect your pet is in pain, contact us for an evaluation.

What should I feed my pet?

Diet depends on your pet’s age, breed, and health needs. We can provide personalized nutritional advice during your visit.

How do I prevent fleas, ticks, and heartworms?

We offer a variety of preventive treatments for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Regular use of these preventatives is key to keeping your pet healthy. 

Clinic Policies FAQs

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Do you offer payment plans?

We recommend financing your pet’s care with CareCredit. Please visit their website to find out more.

Can I bring multiple pets to the same appointment?

Yes, you can bring multiple pets to the same appointment. Please inform us when scheduling so we can allocate enough time for each pet. Plan to be here 30 minutes per pet.

What should I do if my pet needs medication?

We can prescribe and dispense medications for your pet. Please call ahead if you need a refill, or request one through our online portal at our website, or through our PetDesk mobile app.

Do you offer boarding or grooming services?

We do not offer boarding or grooming services at this time, but we can recommend trusted local providers.

New Clients FAQs

I’m a new client. What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your pet’s medical records, a list of any current medications, and any questions or concerns you have. Arrive a few minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork. Please provide your medical records at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment.
